Math in 4B

The Roderick School uses the Illustrative Math Curriculum. This year the mathematicians will utilize the workshop model to investigate and master math concepts related to place value, operations, fractions, measurement, and geometry. We will be using Math Binders throughout the year for note taking and exemplars. The 4th graders will record helpful math vocabulary in their math binders as well as in their digital math glossaries on Google Classroom!

Massachusetts Math Practice Standards

  1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them.

  2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively.

  3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.

  4. Model with mathematics.

  5. Use appropriate tools strategically.

  6. Attend to precision.

  7. Look for and make use of structure.

  8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
