General Information

This year’s Wrentham Summer Institute will run from 8:00 - 11:45 daily at the Roderick School.  On days of inclement weather, outdoor classes will be moved indoors.

Your child should be dropped at the back of Roderick School on Randall Road at 8:00 am each morning to meet the class instructor(s).  Pick up is promptly at 11:45 each day.  Your child’s instructor will accompany all students to the back of Roderick School for pick up.

Session 1: Monday, July 8 - Thursday, July 11

Session 2: Monday, July 15 - Thursday, July 18

Session 3: Monday, July 22 - Thursday, July 25

Session Fee

$110 per child, per session  (unless specified otherwise)

Please pay by cash, check, or money order by June 3, 2024.

Payments are non-refundable.  Refunds are only given if a class is canceled by Summer Institute or for a documented medical reason. Refunds can take up to 4-6 weeks.

ONE CHECK PER CHILD, PER SESSION, payable to Wrentham Public Schools, written in blue or black ink.  

In the memo space, write the child's name & class.

Registration Information

When registering your child, please select the grade level your child will be entering in September 2024. You do not need to be a Wrentham resident to register!  

All registrations this year will be completed via Google Form.  Please fill out one Google Form (contains both registration and medical information) per child, per session.  

Full payment(s) should be sent in promptly after your registration(s).  

Your payment will be deposited to the WPS Business Office once enough registrations have been received to run the class.

Please note: If your child does not currently attend Wrentham Public Schools, you are required to send a copy of your child's current physical form including immunizations from your child's doctor.

Class Confirmations

Your child’s class confirmation will be sent via email by early June. 

*PLEASE NOTE: A class could be canceled due to low enrollment.  

What to Wear/Bring

  • Nut-free snack 
  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable play clothes and sneakers
  • Check the class description for any additional supplies and/or equipment you may need to bring.

Nurse On Duty

 There will be a nurse on site during all sessions.

3D Zoo-Weird but True! - Mrs. Lopez
Students entering 4th-6th
Hello 3D Zoo Creators. Come put your creativity, math skills, and resources to the test to create 3D animals!  First, decide what animal you want to make, design your structure, work with boxes and miscellaneous materials to make your animal, and research to write a description for guests who visit the zoo.
 
All About Disney! - Mrs. Geehan
Students entering K-3rd
Are you a Disney fan? Come have a fun week "visiting" each of the parks. Pick up your Magic Band on the first day and enter a room full of fun! We will "ride" rides, create crafts, do STEM activities, learn about characters and watch some Disney Classics. Our week will end with a "Dress Up" Day and parade. Please bring a nut free snack, drink and backpack. Apply sunblock before class. Favorite activities from last year, as well as some new surprises! WE'LL SEE YOU REAL SOON FOR A MAGICAL TIME!

American Girl Doll Camp - Mrs. Lewis
Students entering 2nd-5th
Do you love to play American Girl Dolls? If you said yes, then this camp is for you.
Come bring your doll and enjoy a super fun week with friends. We will make cell phones, bracelets and smores for your doll. Enjoy a movie day as we make slushies and popcorn. When it is time to relax we will have a spa day and make face masks and decorate t-shirts for your doll. It is sure to be a fun week you won't want to miss! We will cool off with popsicles and on the last day have an ice cream sundae party!! Hope you can come join the fun.

Adventures with Barbies - Mrs.Kelleher
Students entering K-6th
Come enjoy some time playing Barbies with your friends! We will enjoy many adventures including camping with Barbie, creating your own water park, learning new Barbie Bubble Braid hair styles and some Barbie blanket creations. Please feel free to bring your favorite Barbie’s. You can bring anything Barbie related that you can carry. Come and enjoy using your imagination with your friends. Please remember to pack a snack!
 
Barbie World - Mrs. Duffy
Students entering K-4th
Hi Barbies!  Join us for a week celebrating all things Barbie (and her friends), and embrace the message that “You Can Be Anything.”  We will of course be playing with Barbies (feel free to bring some of your own), doing Barbie-themed arts and crafts, and exploring some of the many careers Barbie has had over the years!  We will end the week with an animated Barbie movie, complete with Barbie-themed snacks.  Expect a week full of self-love, creativity, music, friendship, and fashion!

Cupcakes and Treats - Mrs. Clifford
Students entering K-6th
Do you like sweets?  Each day we will be decorating cupcakes or making yummy treats to eat or bring home!  Cookies and candy are a big part of this class.  Bring your creativity and your appetite and together we will mix, blend, and frost our way to delicious treats!  WE will plan for some outdoor playtime.  Please bring a water bottle and a snack each day.  Come join the fun!

Daily Challenge - Mrs. Morris
Students entering 1st-3rd
Do you like to challenge your brain, body, and skills while having a little friendly competition? This is the class for you! Each day we will participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor challenges, such as solving riddles, Minute to Win It, scavenger hunts, Wordle, field day events, and more. Get your brain thinking and your body moving with a week packed full of fun! See you there!
 
Fairy Fun Summer Camp - Miss Merriott
Students entering PreK-4th
Welcome to "Fairy Fun Summer Camp"! This camp is a magical place where kids can explore the enchanting world of fairies through arts and crafts. From making fairy wings and flower crowns, there's endless creativity to be discovered. With storytelling sessions and nature walks, it's a summer filled with laughter and enchantment. Join us for a magical adventure at Fairy Fun Summer Camp!

Do you love to create beautiful things? Then this Perler bead camp is for you! Come create fun projects like key chains,butterflies,flowers,birds,sea turtles and fish! The list goes on and on! Invite a neighbor or friend to join the more the merrier!

Gettin' Tech With It! - Mr. Kelley
Students entering 4th-5th
Get TECH with it from making fun videos using green screens, and crazy cool coding, all the way to creating animated posters, pictures, and so much more! Amp up your tech skills in this fun jam-packed week with Mr. Kelley!
 
Indoor and Outdoor Games - Mrs. Crawford & Mrs. Horne
Students entering K-2nd
Come one come all and join Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Horne for a week of fun filled games. We will go back in time to the games we played as children. This week we will enjoy musical chairs, water balloons, squirt bottles, duck duck goose, relay races around the bus circle , obstacle courses and many more fun activities. In case of rain, we will enjoy some old fashioned games such as Go Fish, Candy Land, Memory, Uno, Jenga... Let's take a break from all this screen time to enjoy each other.

Insane Science - Ms. DeTrolio
Students entering 3rd-7th
Just as Einstein said “Play is the highest form of research”, so in this class we will be doing fun and crazy science experiments and having fun at the same time! We will be learning about science by creating Lava Lamps, solar ovens, rock crystals and much more. On the last day we will do a fascinating experiment that will blow your mind!! So grab a friend and join this class for some INSANE SCIENCE!

Jumpstart to First Grade - Mrs. Buckley
Students entering 1st
Join Mrs. Buckley, a first grade teacher, and get ready for First grade! We will spend the week reviewing basic academic skills, practicing expected behavior and having fun with other soon-to-be First Graders! This week is a great opportunity to check out the first grade classrooms, hear about what first grade will be like and to practice sitting at a desk. We will also be making crafts and reading lots of great books. We hope you can join us for some First Grade fun!
 
Kids World Record Challenges - Mrs. Malfy
Students entering 3rd-6th
Have you ever wanted to break a world record? Maybe this could be your chance!! We will be trying many of the kids' world records this week. It will be fun and challenging! I am looking forward to having a great week with you all.

Students entering 1st-6th
Join us for a fun-filled week of everything Pokémon. Do you have a favorite Pokémon?
Do you want to be a Pokémon trainer? Come and connect with fellow Pokémon fans.  Get creative designing your own character. We will do fun crafts and play games. Throughout the week we will spend time indoors and out. Wear your sunscreen,  bring a snack, and get ready to....Catch 'Em All!
 
Qwirkle, Kryto, Connect Four, and More - Mrs. Crabtree
Students entering 4th-6th
Bring a friend or make new friends playing games "unplugged".  You may discover a new favorite game or play an old-time favorite.  A Connect Four Tournament may be in the cards for you. Come and join the fun!
 
Slime Time! - Mrs. Celentano
Students entering 4th-6th
In this hands-on class, enjoy learning the basics of making slime, discuss and experiment with different slime ingredients, and make some pretty awesome slime! Come join the fun!

Soccer Summertime Fun Camp -Ms. Gresham and Ms. Lawler
Students entering 3rd-6th 
A fun and engaging soccer camp for students! We will introduce the fundamentals of soccer including basic skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting through fun games and activities. Join us for an exciting and memorable experience this summer run by former King Philip High School Girls Soccer Captains. Please bring a soccer ball, shin guards, water, and a snack!
 
Summer Arts and Crafts - Mrs. McKay
Students entering 1st-2nd 
Summer themed art projects. Each day there is a different theme. Students will get to use different materials, including turning recycled materials into art.
 
Taylor Swift Camp - Ms. Giosi and Mrs. Beltramini 
Students entering 1st-3rd
Are you in your Swiftie Era?  Who knew in your “Wildest Dreams” that you could have a Taylor Swift fun filled week? “Long Story Short” we will be doing a lot of Taylor Swift crafts and games! Some games you may know “All Too Well” like Bingo, Freeze Dance, Musical Chairs, and more! We will be very “Delicate” as we make friendship bracelets for one of our crafts. You may be asking “Is it Over Now?” We will also go outside to “Shake it Off” and play. We are “Enchanted” to see you this summer to have a fun filled week with crafts and outdoor play!

Students entering Kindergarten
Join me for a week of friendship and fun while we dive into ocean life. We will be creating marine art, reading ocean filled stories, enjoying water play and engaging in sensory activities. It's a whole new world as we explore the ocean together!

Be a part of the artistic adventures and celebrations of creativity, friendship, and fun. Campers enjoy art making with beads, rocks, paint, yarn, memory wire, wood and so much more. Bring your crafty imagination to upcycle, repurpose and create unique artwork you can keep or share.

Do you want to become a junior scientist? If you said Yes then this camp is for you. Explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through FUN hands on experiments and activities. We will build a pizza box solar oven and make smores. We will experiment making our own ice cream, make secret notes with invisible ink, code a Lego maze, and play the floor in a lava stem challenge.Come join in the fun!

Minute to Win It! - Mrs. Clifford
Students entering 1st-6th
Do you love fast paced games?  How about competing against friends or yourself to beat a personal best?  In the Minute to Win It Challenge, we will use common household and school supplies to create exciting challenges and games.  Impress your friends with the tricks you master.  Some of the challenges are edible.  On our last day we will hold our final Minute to Win It competition and the winning team will be crowned the Minute to Win It Champions!  Please bring a water bottle and snack each day.  Come join the fun!
 
Pirates of the Caribbean - Mrs. Doyle

Come discover if you have what it takes to be a pirate! You will create a treasure map, design a treasure chest, earn some pirate gear, and learn some pirate songs!

The Readers Theatre participants will work together to create a presentation with the script of their choice. Through creative ideas, designs and voice, all students will participate in performances and set design for a final day presentation.

Do you like to make yummy treats? Let's learn to bake/cook outside of the box! Join us to learn what ingredients to use for your cooking creations. We will be making themed edible and non-edible treats, while learning to use kitchen tools. Kids N Clay - Mrs. McGuire
Students entering 1st-6th
Come learn the basics of creating ceramics. We will explore techniques used to build different forms from scratch out of clay. We will learn pinching, coiling, and slabbing to create different art projects throughout the week. We’ll  paint and glaze our projects adding color and sparkle!  In class students will use their imagination and creative skills to make something unique. Hand Building with clay is messy, fun, and easy!
 
Legos - Mrs. Clifford
Students entering K-6th
Lego Club is back for another session!  If you love building with Legos, this is the class for you.  Let your imagination run wild as you build with a large collection of Legos.  Join a challenge or just sit, relax and build.  Some days we will do a lego craft (some might be edible) and plan some outside playtime.  Plan on bringing a water bottle and a snack each day.  Come join the fun!  Legos for life!
 
Letterboxing and Water Play Fun - Mrs. Lynch
Students entering 2nd-5th
What could be more fun than finding a hidden treasure? Finding a hidden treasure and then running through a sprinkler and gliding down a slip 'n slide, that's what!! Have fun, stay cool! Letterboxing is an intriguing mix of hiking, puzzle-solving, treasure hunting, and rubber stamping. Throughout the week we will spend time indoors and out. Each child will choose a code name, decorate a letterboxing bag and create a few unique rubber stamps. You get to take home all your supplies at the end of the week! We will hike the school grounds and Sweatt Hill areas in search of hidden treasures and end each day by cooling off with lots of water play fun!! On the last day, we will have a yummy "cool" treat! So bring a snack, water bottle, swim suit, towel, sunscreen, bug spray and get ready to make some new friends and have lots of fun!!

Pottermania - Ms. DeTrolio
Students entering 3rd-6th
Harry Potter fans, enter the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter! Immerse yourself in the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends. Join us as we read “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and have Harry Potter experiences, such as getting sorted into Hogwarts houses, learning spells, making wands and making potions. We will finish up with a trip to “Hogsmead” and have some Butter Beer.

soccer, basketball, kickball, wiffleball, and more! We will have fun playing outside, cooling off with some water games, and doing some fitness activities indoors as well. Come join the fun and wear sneakers and bring a water bottle.

Join us to craft and create your own designs with Perler Beads. Then take a break for some snack and outdoor fun! Each day we will create new projects, cook up a fun snack, and play some fun outdoor summer games!
 
Taylor Swift Camp - Ms. Giosi 
Students entering 1st-3rd
Are you in your Swiftie Era?  Who knew in your “Wildest Dreams” that you could have a Taylor Swift fun filled week? “Long Story Short” we will be doing a lot of Taylor Swift crafts and games! Some games you may know “All Too Well” like Bingo, Freeze Dance, Musical Chairs, and more! We will be very “Delicate” as we make friendship bracelets for one of our crafts. You may be asking “Is it Over Now?” We will also go outside to “Shake it Off” and play. We are “Enchanted” to see you this summer to have a fun filled week with crafts and outdoor play!
